Pharmacological action

Pharmacodynamic Enrofloxacin is a broad-spectrum bactericidal drug specially used for fluoroquinolone animals. For e. coli, salmonella, klebsiella, brucella, pasteurella, pleuropneumonia actinobacillus, erysipelas, bacillus proteus, clayey Mr Charest’s bacteria, suppurative corynebacterium, defeated blood pott’s bacteria, staphylococcus aureus, mycoplasma, chlamydia, etc all have good effect, on the role of pseudomonas aeruginosa and streptococcus is weak, weak effect on anaerobic bacteria. It has obvious post-antibacterial effect on sensitive bacteria. The antibacterial action mechanism of this product is to inhibit bacterial DNA rotase, interfere with the replication, transcription and repair of bacterial DNA recombination, bacterial can not grow and reproduce normally and die.

Pharmacokinetics The drug was absorbed quickly and completely by intramuscular injection. The bioavailability was 91.9% in pigs and 82% in cows. It is widely distributed in animals and can enter tissues and body fluids well. Except cerebrospinal fluid, the concentration of drugs in almost all tissues is higher than that in plasma. The main hepatic metabolism is the removal of the ethyl of the 7-piperazine ring to produce ciprofloxacin, followed by oxidation and glucuronic acid binding. Mainly through the kidney (renal tubular secretion and glomerular filtration) discharge, 15% ~ 50% in the original form from the urine. The elimination half-life of intramuscular injection was 5.9 hours in dairy cows, 1.5 ~ 4.5 hours in sheep, and 4.6 hours in pigs.

Drug Interactions

(1) This product has synergistic effect when combined with aminoglycosides or broad-spectrum penicillin.

(2) Ca2+, Mg2+, Fe3+, Al3+ and other heavy metal ions can chelate with this product, affecting the absorption.

(3) When combined with theophylline and caffeine, the plasma protein binding rate is reduced, and the concentration of theophylline and caffeine in blood is abnormally increased.

Even appear theophylline poisoning symptoms.

(4) This product has the effect of inhibiting liver drug enzymes, which can reduce the clearance rate of drugs mainly metabolized in the liver, and increase the blood concentration of drugs.

Adverse reactions

(1) Cartilage degeneration occurs in young animals, affecting bone development and causing claudication and pain.

(3) Skin reactions include erythema, pruritus, urticaria and photosensitive reaction.

(4) Allergic reactions, ataxia and seizures are occasionally seen in dogs and cats.

Precautions

(1) It has potential excitatory effect on the central system and can induce epileptic seizures. It should be used with caution in dogs with epilepsy.

(2) Carnivores and animals with poor renal function use with caution, can occasionally crystallize urine.

(3) This product is not suitable for dogs before 8 weeks of age.

(4) The drug-resistant strains of this product are increasing, so it should not be used in the subtherapeutic dose for a long time.
